Call To Action

About the project

The First Nations Craft Project exists to bring an end to the production of fake and factory made Aboriginal Craft products presented as “authentic” to misinformed buyers across the globe and to place First Nations Crafters at the forefront of the movement.

We will do this by providing an accessible platform to purchase authentic First Nations made artefacts direct from grassroots, while also providing a space to immerse the buyer in the essence and storyline of how our artefacts come to creation in physical form, developing a greater appreciation and awareness for the practice and process involved.

The First Nations Craft Project will evolve each year and will become a dedicated avenue that provides self-determined investment directly back to First Nations Crafters / Led initiatives across the country that are actively working to keep the practice alive for future generations. A funding stream that is currently non-existent.

Take Action!

As part of the project we have bold targets and your involvement is key!

We want to create and sell 150 “Ngooyt Meerreeng - Heal Country” Craft Kits (example pictured below) valued at $500 and deliver traditional craft group workshops for schools, organizations and community groups across the state of Victoria.

If you are willing to become apart of this movement by purchasing a craft kit, gift card or booking a workshop, pledge your commitment by registering below and we will be in touch!

Each craft kit sold as part of this project will be uniquely numbered and recorded in our database for life, resulting in a community movement towards change. One piece of craft at a time.
